2018 Poll Results
What’s next?
To calculate the final score for each of the ten finalists in the Best MN Town search, we combine our 3 panelist’s scores with the public vote bonus. Points for the public vote are awarded proportionally, based on number of votes received and town population. For more information, please see our Official Rules.
Thank you to all who participated in the public vote on the Best MN Town of 2018! Join us on December 5th at Aria for our Best of Minnesota Party, where we will announce the winner of the Best MN Town search and spend the evening celebrating the people, the culture, the landmarks and the spirit of our state.
How are final scores calculated?
The public vote makes up 25% of each town’s final score. The score is scaled by population, so if a town receives votes equal to more than 80% of its population, it receives the full 100 points available. If the votes total 50%-80%, the town receives 75 points. For 20-50%, the town receives 50 points. For less than 20%, the town receives 25 points.
The other 75% of the final score comes from a panel of judges who are reviewing the 10 nominees’ submissions.
